Frank Quadrino, Community Outreach Manager for the Veterans Administration (VA) New Jersey Health Care System, will present a program on veterans’ benefits. Mr. Quadrino will talk about: diagnostic, treatment, preventative, and other healthcare services available to eligible veterans enrolled for VA healthcare benefits; eligibility factors, including minimum duty requirements, theater of combat, and financial means; and local VA health centers and community-based outreach centers. Admission to the program is free and all are welcome. The program was arranged by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library.
The Westfield Area YMCA is hosting a free lunchtime event, the Benefits of Being “Chill” on Wednesday, June 28th from 12:30-1:30PM at the Main Y Facility located at 220 Clark Street, Westfield.
Julie Shanebrook, founder of Westfield’s Chill Cryotherapy, leads a discussion on the benefits of cryotherapy—the brief application of cold temperature to the skin. Cryotherapy may be effective at reducing pain, relieving inflammation and may have cosmetic benefits like weight loss, cellulite reduction and anti-aging effects. She will also discuss its use in the treatment and prevention of diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Diabetes and autoimmune disorders.

Winter break is the perfect time to learn how to become a lifeguard.
During winter break is the perfect time to get certified as a Lifeguard. The course is December 27th-29th from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm for those who pass the physical skills test. Registration is going on now for both the test and course for members and non-members for a fee. Participant must be at least age 16 by the last day of class.
