    Cranford Historical Society to Present “ Music in Bloom: A Garden Concert” The Cranford Historical Society is proud to present “Music in Bloom: A Garden Concert” on Sunday, May 18,, 2014 at 2:15pm at the Crane-Phillips House Museum. Doors open at 2:00pm. Plan to join our outstanding local musicians Mel Freda, Leonard Hargiss, Mary Heller, Bruce McKinney and Deborah Schnapf in the gardens of the Crane-Phillips House Museum. Immerse yourself in the music of Handel and Telemann, Bizet, Schumann and Romberg while surrounded by the blossoming gardens at the museum. Admission is free but reservations are required.     A Man for All Seasons takes place in 16th century England and concentrates on the last seven years of the life of Chancellor Sir Thomas More’s life and the struggle between More and his King, Henry VIII. This conflict hinges on Henry's determination to break with Rome so he can divorce his current wife and wed again, and good Catholic More's inability to go along with such heresy. More resigns as chancellor, hoping to be able to live out his life as a private citizen. The program features original photography of lighthouses along the Atlantic Coast, the Hudson River, the Long Island Sound, and the Great Lakes, as well as vintage images of historic and vanished lights.
