In recognition of Oral Cancer Awareness, Dr. Kurt Krause in cooperation with the Oral Cancer Foundation will be offering free oral cancer screenings on Friday, November 16, 2012 at his Cranford dental office. Oral cancer is not a rare disease. Approximately 37,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer every year in the US. It kills one person every hour of every day, and over 100 new individuals will be diagnosed with it each day. The good news is that it can often be found early in its development, through a simple, painless, and quick screening. An oral cancer screening should be conducted every year, so take advantage of this opportunity and get screened today. Bring your family to see amazing acrobatics and graceful water dancing at the 20th annual Synchronized Swimming Show featuring the Westfield Area Y Aquaducks. The popular fundraising exhibition will be held on Saturday, November 17th at 1 pm and 7 pm and Sunday, November 18th at 1 pm at the Westfield Area Y, 220 Clark Street in Westfield. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12 and all proceeds go to support the team. Tickets are available at the Welcome Center of the Westfield Area Y or through team members. Snacks, gifts and raffles will also be available.

The Roaring Twenties opens during World War I as doughboys Eddie Bartlett (James Cagney), Lloyd Hart (Jeffrey Lynn), and George Hally (Humphrey Bogart) discuss what they will do when the war is over. Bartlett wants to go back to repairing cabs, and Hart yearns to be a lawyer, but it becomes clear that Hally has less reputable plans in mind for himself. Come the end of the war, things are not as easy for veterans like Bartlett as they should be. He is unable to get his old job back and ends up driving a cab for little money. One night he is asked to deliver a package (which turns out to be whiskey) to an address that turns out to be a speakeasy. This starts him on a life of crime, as he gets deeper involved as a bootlegger. James Cagney, one of the great leads of the gangster-movie era, turns in an assured performance in the film, which features one of the most famous death scenes in movie history.—All Rovi
