The Westfield Area Y is pleased to announce that it will celebrate its 90th Anniversary on Sunday, September 15th at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield between 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The entire community is invited to join the Y in the celebration and attend the FREE festivities. Rain or shine, the fun will be inside the Y and outside on Ferris Place. It's All About Me Salon & Day Spa is hosting a cut-a-thon for Daniel Nols. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Daniel Nols Fund.
Daniel Nols, a 13 year old boy from Piscataway, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ewing's Sarcoma on (date) and has been fighting hard ever since. Ewing's Sarcoma is a very rare form of bone cancer that strikes children and adolescents. This type of cancer accounts for less than 1% of pediatric cancers.

The Cranford Historical Society will present “On the Home Front—A Civil War Veteran’s Home on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Crane-Phillips House Museum, 124 North Union Avenue, Cranford NJ.
Henry J. Phillips was the second owner of the Cranford Phillips House and was a veteran of the American Civil War. Henry J. Phillips was a Private of the 8th Company of the 7th Regiment, New York State Militia. Costume Docent will be on hand to explain how families coped while their relatives where away fighting in the American Civil War.

Based on the novel and play by Joseph Hayes, which in turn was inspired by an actual event, The Desperate Hours is the prototypical "family-trapped-by-criminals" drama. Escaped convicts Humphrey Bogart, Robert Middleton and Dewey Martin, seeking an appropriate hideout until they can make contact with their money supply, deliberately choose the suburban home of Fredric March and his family. The convicts orders the family to go about their normal activities so as not to arouse suspicion.—All Movie
